1. How is the AAS plastic pallet different from other plastic pallets?
The AAS pallet is a lightweight, full duty, 9-post design, which allows entry from all sides regardless of the type of pallet handling equipment used. Pallet jacks/hand trucks roll under the pallet without having to roll over underside slats. Forklifts do not have to target the space between the top and the bottom of the pallet.

While there are other light duty, 9-post design plastic pallets on the market, the AAS pallet is the only one in its weight class structurally designed to sit on standard warehouse racking systems as well as handle the racking loads.

2. What are the benefits of using AAS plastic pallets?
There are many competitive benefits to using the AAS plastic pallet.

First, our pallet is considerably less expensive than other full duty plastic pallets on the market. At 30 pounds, it is 40-50% lighter than other comparable plastic pallets, which can weigh as much as 60 pounds or more. Weight savings equals cost savings.

Our pallet is injection molded as one solid piece using no inserts or other expensive fillers or devices. Our high production capacity mold design further contributes to the cost savings.

Second, our pallet is designed for easy use in the warehouse environment. With easy 4-way entry for all pallet-handling equipment, operators can move our loaded pallets with maximum efficiency while at the same time avoiding damage to the pallet or loads typically caused by restricted access wood and plastic pallets.

4. What does "full duty" mean?
Full duty means that the AAS pallet is capable of handling the maximum loads required in the industry.

5. Is the AAS plastic pallet rackable?
Yes. Our pallet is structurally designed to sit on standard 42" and 36" warehouse racking systems. It is recommended that only unitized loads be used for free spanning rack applications. Our pallet is not yet rated for free span edge racking pursuant to ASTM D1185, Sec.8.4.

6. Is the AAS plastic pallet stackable?
Yes. Our pallet has been tested to over 25,000 pounds static load capacity for a period exceeding 30 days without failure. However, depending on the type and structure of the load, a cap sheet is recommended to protect loads from indentation damage that might be caused by the pallet post edges.

7. Is the AAS plastic pallet nestable?
Yes, our pallets are reverse nestable. By reverse nesting, users are able to transport 65% more pallets in the same amount of space as conventional wood or other full duty plastic pallets.

8. How durable is the AAS plastic pallet compared to other wood or plastic pallets?
The AAS pallet is very durable. Under normal use, our pallets are designed to last for years. Our one-piece molded pallet has no bottom slats or runners – the structural elements of conventional wood pallets that are frequently damaged. The ease of entry and exit for pallet handling equipment further decreases the incidence of impacts causing damage to our pallet.

Our pallet deck design also provides significant shock absorbing qualities that dissipate impact energy throughout the pallet deck.

9. Do AAS plastic pallets come with a warranty?
Yes. AAS pallets are warranted to be free of defects in materials or workmanship for one-year from the date of shipment.

10. Are AAS plastic pallets fire retardant?
At this time, our pallets are not rated for fire hazard. We expect to have a UL fire hazard rating by the end of 2004 and will offer a model that meets UL standard 2335, which provides a fire code exception for plastic pallets that "present a hazard equal to or less than that presented by idle wood pallets."

11. Is the AAS plastic pallet recyclable?
Yes, the AAS pallet is made from HDPE (high-density polyethylene), which can be ground and used to make new pallets or other plastic products.

12. Is the AAS plastic pallet made from recycled material?
Yes. Upon request we offer a pallet made with up to 25% recycled material.
